Anaya combines her extensive knowledge of horticulture with client needs to create spectacular yards that not only enhance curb appeal and property value, but also create spaces that you can be proud of and truly enjoy. Some try to copy, but nobody can match the unique pleasure and comfort of Anaya's designs.
Is your new or old yard in need of refurbishments? This service is for hands on people. Meet with Anaya who will collaborate with you on an overall plan. Quick sketch, installation tips and notes, and plant names and locations are all part of this service.
An average of two to three hours planning and designing with Anaya will give you enough information to begin your landscape project with confidence.
Later, when you are building, if you run into sticky spots, Anaya is always happy to chat with you and provide additional guidance. Follow-up-services and project assistance are always available during construction, just in case you get stuck or just want to make sure you're on the right track.
Rates
Hourly consultation average 2-3 hours. Rates effective June 1, 2012 $275.00 per hour + GST including one way travel time. One way travel time can vary from 15 to 30 minutes within Edmonton Proper, travel time less than 15 minutes is free.
Design Drawings for Who?
Drawings are sometimes called layouts or blueprints. Hand-rendered drawings tend to be more accurate, creative, and more connected to the space and the owners. Development of the drawings requires a minimum of 3 meetings with the owners. Owners are extensively involved with the development of these detailed plans. These technical drawings are most appropriate where there is need for tight specification. For example, hard surfacing, retaining wall or pond systems, structures and decking, plant community specification, or personalized spiritual spaces.
This service provides scaled, contractor-ready, technical drawings.
Estimates are procured from contractors on the basis of these drawings. Reliable builders use and value the detail and information. Tip: Contractors who resist following technical design drawings may indicate that they are inexperienced or unreliable.
Project management services ensure your design is built on specification and save you time and stress. Ask for details.
Three Meetings:
- Preliminary meeting: Site Analysis and needs assessment so that the design can capture your needs and tastes
- Second meeting: Conceptual drawings are presented for review. This provides you the opportunity to review and revise the design.
- Final meeting: Presentation of technical Design Drawings for your project. These are the 'blueprints' you need to have your personalized Design built, whether by a contractor or by yourself.
We'll discuss and provide recommendations for implementing the design drawings. We provide professional tips on construction, finding, selecting and working with contractors. We'll discuss some of the maintenance aspects of your new design so that it will grow to fruition.
Rates
Every residential yard is different: the architecture and footprint of the buildings varies greatly, the outdoor spaces are different in dimension and "feel", and so are the site conditions. Each family is unique, as is each person living there. How people wish to expand into their intimate outdoor spaces usually involves beauty and personal connection so this too varies from one residence to another. Custom carpentry detail takes more time to specify than prefab carpentry; photoimaging adds additional time to sketching. There are always differences in design, meeting and studio times, therefore the cost of the technical Design Drawings vary. The Design process start to finish usually takes six weeks to two months.
Effective June 1, 2012, technical Design Drawings start at $5500.00. Travel time is included within Edmonton Proper. Startup and interim payments are required as the design process progresses.

Beyond Planning and Design we offer Project Management Services (if it is to be contractor built) and Project Assisstance (if it is to be owner built).
Project Management Services are available for a limited number of projects. Project Management Services are for owners who wish to see their Design built on specification by contractors, but who do not have the time and/or skills needed to manage this often stressful and confusing phase of a project. We acknowledge that tweaking is an everyday part of any construction but it is sad to learn from disappointed owners, who managed the project themselves, that they had unwittingly agreed to short sighted changes during construction. These changes, far beyond tweaking, often collaspe the design, esthetically or functionally, partially or entirely. We also have seen where owners were charged in full for the construction of the design even though shortcuts were taken. We have seen trees that grow 50' substituted for the specified trees that grow to 12'.
In Project Management we work with clients to find contractors, to get a handle on the estimates, and to manage the business of getting the Landscape Project built on specification.
