By planning living beauty, her landscapes allow natural beauty and sustainability to emerge. Designs should enhance buildings and merge them with their surrounding spaces and foster personal experiences through sight, touch, fragrance, taste, and sound. Designs can be moved through, or relaxed in, or played in. As the landscape matures, the experience of the design intensifies and offers a deeper level of conscious connection.

Anaya prefers to hand render her designs. Some of her work is in CAD, but Anaya feels her client-based, heart-hand connection is both limited and interruped by computers and software.

Ms. Gene-Webb enjoys working with clients who want to be part of the design process.

With her Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture,Anaya accepted a position as Grounds and Greenhouse Supervisor at a Community College. There she trained and supervised staff, conducted research and taught Landscape Planning and Design and in other areas of Horticulture. She challenged and recieved a Trades Ticket in Landscape Gardening (and Construction) and sat on the Apprenticeship Committee during the formation of this Trade. After several years she went into private business creating a Landscape Design/Build company that was attached to her Greenhouse & Garden Center. After 15 years she sold the greenhouses, trucks, landscaping equipment and her Bobcat (which she had used to personally sculpture many-a-landscape) to focus exclusively on Designing and the Project Management of the construction of her Designs. Anaya has achieved Certification in Project Management in Construction.

In the current chapter of her life's work, Ananya Gene-Webb plans, designs and manages the construction of some residential landscapes but has been devoting more time to "from the ground-up, eco-real community planning and design"; that is, new or retro-fit, sustainable green design and permaculture. She helps communities plan/design for sustainability, self reliance, comfort and health, while avoiding the "green-wash" (lip-service), and dysfunctional or ad hoc planning. She helps people create plans and designs for spacially pleasing, functional and grounded communities. Anaya enjoys working with people or groups of people from all walks of life, and as project manager, helps clients avoid getting derailed during construction.
